Privacy policy
Effective October 26, 2026
SunGlance is an Android and Wear OS app, made by Lvenok Studios ("we"), that shows readings from your Enphase solar and battery system. This policy explains what the app collects, where it goes, and how to delete it. Questions go to info@sunglance.app.
In short: SunGlance stores your system's power readings so your devices can show them, and needs only an anonymous sign-in to do it. There are no ads, no analytics, and we don't sell or share your data for advertising.
What we store on our servers
| Your sign-in | A Firebase account. By default it is anonymous: a random ID, with nothing that identifies you. If you choose Sign in with Google, the account also holds your Google account's ID, email address, name and profile photo, as Google provides them. |
|---|---|
| Your household | Which accounts belong to it (each of your phones, tablets and watches has one), whether any of them signed in with Google, and when it was created. |
| Energy readings | About once a minute, from the phone you run as the collector: solar, home, grid and battery power; battery charge and state; the gateway's measurement time; and when the reading was sent and received. |
| Pairing codes | The one-time codes used to add a device to your household. Each stops working after 15 minutes. |
| Request logs | Our servers record each request's time, the address requested, your IP address and the client software, for security and troubleshooting. Google Cloud keeps these logs for 30 days. |
This data is stored with Google Cloud (Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore and Cloud Run) in the United States.
What stays on your devices
- Your Enphase password is never seen by SunGlance. You type it into Enphase's own sign-in page. SunGlance keeps only the access token Enphase then issues for your gateway, encrypted on the collector phone, and never sends it to our servers.
- Your gateway's local network address and its security certificate fingerprint, on the collector phone.
- Recent readings and computed daily history, cached on each device so screens load quickly.
- Your settings, including charge planner assumptions and the names you give appliances in Ask.
Uninstalling the app removes all of this from that device.
Who can see your readings
Only the devices in your household. A device joins only with a one-time code created on a device that is already a member. We access stored data only to run and fix the service, or when the law requires it.
Services that receive data
- Google Firebase and Google Cloud host the service and store the data described above.
- Google Gemini, through Firebase AI Logic, answers questions you type in the Ask tab. It receives your question, the conversation so far, and the numbers SunGlance computes from your readings to answer it, such as daily totals or appliance runs. Nothing is sent to Gemini unless you use Ask. SunGlance uses Gemini as a paid service, so under Google's Gemini API terms Google does not use your questions or its answers to improve its products. It keeps them for a limited time only to detect abuse, and may process them outside the United States.
- Firebase App Check, with Google Play Integrity, confirms that requests to Gemini come from a genuine copy of the app.
- Enphase receives your Enphase sign-in, on its own page, and your gateway's serial number, so it can issue the gateway access token.
How long we keep it
Readings and your household stay until you ask us to delete them. Pairing codes are deleted once used and stop working after 15 minutes either way. Request logs are deleted after 30 days.
Deleting your data
See Delete your data for how to ask us to delete your account, your household and its readings.
Children
SunGlance is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll post the new version here with a new effective date.
